Spearline Labs had its very own Taste of India today as the team were treated to a very special tea morning hosted by new Skibbereeen residents Heta and Satish Barot. It’s no secret that us Irish love our tea so when the opportunity arose to partake in our very own tea party here at Spearline Labs - who were we to object!!! And what better way to mark the start of A Taste of West Cork Food Festival than with a cuppa Indian Chai and some homemade scones from Annie Mays with a good dollop of Glenilen butter.
Unlike Irish tea, Chai is a flavoured tea made by brewing black tea leaves with milk and aromatic Indian spices. And while some of the guys were slow to part with their beloved Barry's, everyone here was looking for a refill...
Heta's India Chai Tea Recipe:
1: Boil milk adding some water in it
2: After some time, add sugar, broken tea leaves and India spices
3: Stir the mixture for a couple of minutes when it is still boiling.
4: Filter the mixture and you have India Tea ready to be served.
5: Sit back and enjoy!
Spearline Labs is very fortunate to have Satish, a Telelcommunications Software Developer from Gujarat in India, join the team. Satish and his family have made the move to Skibbereen and you can read more about Satish’s journey to Ireland on our blog in the coming weeks!
